This is a summary of high school representative activities on Tuesday, April 23rd.
men’s lacrosse
Loyola Blakefield 23, John Carroll 6: Mason Cook had a natural hat trick in the first quarter as the host Dons (4-7, 3-3, Maryland Interhigh Athletic Association A Conference) opened up an 8-0 lead over the Patriots. (3 wins, 8 losses, 1 loss). 6). Mason Cook had a game-high seven goals and five assists. His younger brother Bennett Cook had four assists. Loyola’s other leading scorers include Luke Rush (3 goals, 3 assists), Jake Dolan (3 goals, 1 assist) and Matthew Joelles (2 goals, 3 assists).
St. Mary’s 11, Mount St. Joseph 10: Junior attacker Jameson McAndrews had three assists as the Saints earned their first win in MIAA A Conference play. Kayden Cunningham and Gannon Cope each scored two goals, while Tan Souza totaled one goal and two assists. Cole Kucinski and James Brimhall both contributed a goal and an assist.
Broadneck 14, Arundel 4: Tyler Hicks had a hat trick and James Smack scored twice as the visiting Bruins defeated the Wildcats. Braydon Golobowski made six saves for Broadneck.
Calvert Hall 7, Gilman 6, O.T.: Cody Collier scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the visiting Cardinals (7-4, 5-1 MIAA A Conference) to a victory over the Greyhounds (9-4, 4-2). Calvert Hall trailed 6-5, but Preston Huffman scored with 1:50 left in regulation, forcing overtime. James Meyer had a hat trick and Jay Rogers replaced Gilman with two goals.
C. Milton Wright 20, Aberdeen 2: The Mustangs built a 12-0 lead at halftime and cruised to victory. Sam Levi contributed to the victory with four goals, and Justin Eckman supported him with two goals. Lucas Seifert, Gavin McCullough, Zac Brown and Liam Bender each scored two goals. Garrett DiBlasi hit 18 of 26 on faceoffs.
women’s lacrosse
Eastern Tech 16, Carver A&T 4: Abby Schwartz-Mitchell contributed to the Mavericks’ big win with four goals and two assists. Four other players scored two goals: Jenna Appler, Lily Jones, Emily Reese and Keira Choi. Appler had two assists and Jones had one. Olivia Norman, Andrea Latona, Kylie Jones and Maria Barnaba also scored.
Catonsville 15, Bel Air 11: Casey Fisher led the Comets to a non-conference victory with five goals and four assists for nine points. Kate Roberson supported her with three goals and one assist. Caitlin Welsh also scored three goals. Eva Brands made seven saves in goal. Bel Air’s Paige Fake scored a team-high six goals. Riley Manzo scored three points.
Raven Lake 16, Franklin 11: The Raiders built an 8-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and cruised to the victory. Molly Frye and Ali Henning led the team with four goals each, and Henning also had two assists. Grace Landry scored three points, and Charlotte Gongon and Sarah Watkeys each scored two points. Defensively, Lauren Gongon collected three ground balls and Callie French caused three turnovers.
Century 11, Fallston 9: The Knights passed a tough non-conference test against the Cougars. Delaney Sandbank led a balanced Century attack with three goals and two assists. Natalie Opatowski also had three goals and one assist. Marley Carfein and Harley Hamlett each scored two points, and Carfein had two assists.
Chesapeake-AA 15, City 0: Anna Kunes had a hat trick and Austin McFarland scored two goals as the host Cougars (9-0) shut out the Knights. Skylar Huber had four saves and Eva Bombard had two saves for Chesapeake.
South River 14, Crofton 13: Eva Linnell scored five goals to lead the visiting Seahawks to a victory over the Cardinals. South River’s other leading scorers include Annabella Burke (four goals), Reese Toth and Kseniya Dietrich (two goals each). For Crofton, Kylie Corcoran scored a game-high six goals, and Caroline McDonough and Laila Ponkins each had two goals.
Kita-gun 13, Northeastern 6: Maggie Branford had a goal and an assist for the Knights, and Katie Von Berg, Riley Sheets, Taylor Price and Roxie Stephenson all had two goals. In net, Mikayla Petersen made nine saves.
Aberdeen 7, North East 5: Ellie Beinkampen made 13 saves and the Eagles defeated the Indians. Offensively, Jenna Stevens led the way with four points. Lauren Miranda, Jordan Dawson and Ieko Acheneje also scored goals.
Perryville 9, North Harford 7: Arlyn Goodman and Caroline Nicholson each scored two goals for the Hawks. Ella Morgan, Emily Wilson and Sophie Deibler also scored. In net, Peyton Dawson made eight saves.
baseball
Key School 11, Chapelgate Christian 0: Wyatt Dowton pitched five shutout innings as the host Obezags (6-4, 5-4 MIAA C Conference) defeated the Yellow Jackets (4-6, 3-5). For the Keys, Angus Lunt-Woodward had three RBIs and Aidan Stewart (2-for-3) had two RBIs.
St. Mary’s 13, St. Paul’s 1: Harrison DeLoach (2 hits for 3 at bats) and Nick Hulme (2 hits for 3 at bats) each hit doubles to defeat the host Saints (11-4, 8-2 MIAA B Conference) over the Crusaders (8-11) 5 minutes). -Five). Hulme, the winning pitcher, pitched five innings, allowing one hit and one run, with five strikeouts. The victory was the third in a row. Brennan Moran had a home run and two RBIs.
Severn 10, Glenelg Country 0: Ben Campion pitched three innings and had two hits, including a double with the bases loaded, as the host Admirals (9-5, 8-3, MIAA B Conference Red Division) shutout the Dragons (3-7, 3). Southern 16, Mead 1: Sophomore Riley Catterton had four RBIs, and seniors Maddie Phipps, Lily Buhai, Mackenzie Johnson and Alyssa Jacks all had RBIs for the Southern team. Freshman Jordyn Hamel pitched Southern’s final three frames in relief, allowing just one point in his varsity debut.

Hereford 6, Towson 3: Women’s singles No. 2 player Ivanka Charkaris and women’s doubles No. 2 team Serena Paran and Kiana Eshaghi each won a third-set tiebreak to help the Bulls defeat the Generals. Hereford’s Julia Calese won the women’s singles title, and the doubles teams of Nadav Weisberg and Matt Nawrocki, Lucas Everett and Henry Bishop, and Anna Kurtz and Athena Zhou won the doubles title. Towson won two boys singles matches, with wins by James Thoms and Andrew Kamman.
