A fossil previously thought to be one of the oldest octopus fossils has been reevaluated. New scans and analysis suggest that the Pohlsepia mazonensis fossil is not an octopus at all. The true nature of the fossil is being reported, with visual aids such as 3D videos and diagrams being released to illustrate the findings.
