Thirteen actors reportedly turned down a role in the movie "Top Gun" before Tom Cruise accepted the part of Pete Mitchell. The film went on to become a successful franchise. It is unclear which actors were offered the role, although one outlet suggests that a well-known figure, possibly not an actor, was also considered for a part in the sequel "Top Gun: Maverick".
