Radiologists are having difficulty distinguishing between real and artificially generated x-rays, with some studies suggesting that even top radiologists can be deceived by ai-generated medical images. However, there is also evidence that ai can accurately identify normal and abnormal chest x-rays. The implications of ai-generated x-rays for patient safety are being considered.
