Research on glioblastoma stem cells has identified epigenetic regulation as a key factor in determining functionally distinct subgroups and predicting patient survival. The study of epigenetic mechanisms is also being explored in other types of cancer, including leukemia and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as in non-cancerous conditions such as skin aging. The findings suggest that epigenetic regulation plays a crucial role in controlling stem cell lineage and tumor progression across various types of cancer.
