Google's Chromecast product line has apparently been discontinued, with some outlets suggesting it is among several google products to be phased out. A new streaming device, possibly the 12th attempt at such a product, may be emerging to fill the gap. The discontinuation of Chromecast has also led to alternative products, such as WiiM, being promoted as replacements for certain Chromecast functions.
