A Nepali Sherpa has broken his own record for the most ascents of Mount Everest, with reports suggesting he has now climbed the mountain at least 31 times, although some sources indicate the total may be 32. The achievement comes during a year that has seen a high volume of permits issued for Everest climbs. There is also mention of another climber, possibly named Kenton Cool, breaking their own record with a 20th ascent, as well as a female climber referred to as the "Mountain Queen" setting a new record.
