The athens stock exchange, or athex, has experienced a decline, with crediabank leading the bourse index lower. However, there are reports that banks have also helped to reverse an early decline of the benchmark and take the index back to 2,500 points. The bourse is reportedly on a multi-day and multi-week decline.
