Researchers have developed a nanoplatform for targeted tumor therapy that induces immunogenic cell death. The platform is said to initiate a pyroptosis-based cell death cascade, although its potential application and relationship to other forms of cell death, such as ferroptosis and necroptosis, are also being explored. The technology may have implications for cancer immunotherapy, including in the treatment of melanoma.
