A phase Ib trial has been conducted on afuresertib plus fulvestrant for pretreated HR-positive, HER2-negative, advanced breast cancer. There are reports of a treatment meeting its primary end point in a phase 3 trial for HR-positive breast cancer, but it is unclear if this refers to the same trial or a different one. Additionally, there is discussion on optimizing guidelines for a similar treatment, capivasertib, in HR-positive/HER2-negative advanced breast cancer.
