An electric version of the BMW M3 is being developed, with some reports suggesting it may be available as an alternative to a petrol model. The electric M3 is expected to feature simulated engine sounds, possibly including a fake V10 engine sound, as well as simulated gearshifts. The exact details and release timing of the electric M3 are not yet clear, but some reports indicate it may be available in 2027.
