Google has announced the Agent Payments Protocol, a new protocol aimed at facilitating commerce using ai agents. The company is donating the protocol to the FIDO Alliance to support the development of open standards for secure agentic payments. Several companies, including OnePay and Klarna, have already partnered with Google to work on the protocol's rollout.
