A therapy involving genome-edited immune cells is showing promise for treating aggressive blood cancer. The treatment, which may involve gene-edited stem cell transplants or CAR T-cell therapy, has been reported to have potential benefits for certain types of blood cancer, including T-cell leukemia. However, it is unclear if this therapy is specifically for blood cancer or if it also has applications for other conditions, such as severe lupus.
