A modelling study has estimated the potential impact of eliminating undernutrition on tuberculosis incidence. The study suggests that ending undernutrition could prevent a significant portion of tuberculosis cases, with some reports indicating that nearly a quarter of cases could be avoided. In India, it is reported that hundreds of thousands of tuberculosis cases may have been preventable through improved nutrition.
