Research on the downregulation of Elmo1 has found it induces quiescence and resistance to apoptosis in endothelial cells. The role of Elmo1 is also being explored in other contexts, including its potential involvement in gastric cancer, ankylosing spondylitis, and endothelial cell inflammation. The relationship between Elmo1 and various diseases is being studied through different mechanisms and models, including organoid models and modifications of Elmo1.
