Decarbonization and green finance are being explored as ways to improve energy efficiency, with various approaches and initiatives being implemented globally. Some countries, such as Japan, are leading regional decarbonization efforts through transition finance, while others are focusing on sustainable finance and climate resilience. The use of green finance as a catalyst for energy efficiency is being studied in different contexts, including a case study in Iran on repowering steam power plants.
