Electrons from earth may be contributing to the formation of water on the moon. However, the amount of surface ice in the moon's darkest craters is reportedly less than scientists had predicted. The process by which earth's electrons may be forming water on the moon is thought to involve high-energy electrons in earth's magnetic field or plasma.
