A new usb-c port has been developed that is easily replaceable, reportedly in response to eu laws. The design of this repairable usb type-c connector has been highlighted, although details of its implementation are unclear. It is also being suggested that apple may be required to transition away from lightning ports on older iphones in favor of usb-c.
