The death toll from the ebola outbreak in the democratic republic of congo has exceeded 500. There have been at least 1528 reported cases, with community transmission continuing and the outbreak possibly worsening. International support has been pledged, including from the eu and g7, as france has also reported an ebola case on its territory.
