The Einstein Probe X-ray telescope has released its first images, taken with a unique "lobster vision" capability. These images may have captured a black hole tearing apart a white dwarf, a phenomenon that has possibly been observed for the first time. However, the nature of the observed event is not entirely clear, with reports also mentioning a mysterious explosion and repeating gamma-ray bursts that defy known physics.
