An atmospheric wave was detected during the eruption of a volcano in Tonga. The eruption is also being studied for its effects on the atmosphere and ocean, as well as its potential to trigger a tsunami. Other recent scientific discoveries and studies appear to be unrelated to the Tonga volcanic eruption.
