An electric version of the BMW M3 is being developed, with some reports suggesting it will have four motors, all-wheel drive, and simulated gear changes. However, there is uncertainty about the powertrain, as a prototype spotted at the Nürburgring appeared to have an inline-six engine instead of electric motors. The electric BMW M3 is expected to be part of the company's lineup, possibly sold alongside a traditional internal combustion engine version.
