The FDA has approved a regimen of niraparib and abiraterone with prednisone for prostate cancer with a specific genetic mutation. The approval appears to be for patients with BRCA2-mutated metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer, although some reports suggest the approval may also apply to BRCA1/2-mutated metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The treatment has also been approved in europe under the name Akeega for a similar patient population.
