A by-election has been triggered in Clacton after Nigel Farage quit as an MP. Some of his political rivals have reportedly ruled out standing in the by-election, although it is unclear if all potential candidates will abstain. At least one candidate, Count Binface, is said to be challenging, while others may still enter the race.
