A fine-scale structure of the mohorovičić discontinuity, or moho, in southern california has been uncovered using distributed acoustic sensing. This discovery was made possible by a new technique, which allows for a deeper look within tectonic plates. The technique's capabilities have been demonstrated in this region, providing new insights into its structure.
