HS2 has obtained planning permission for several components of the project, including the Birmingham viaducts and the Curzon Street station. However, the project has also faced a setback with a court of appeal challenge over the Bromford Tunnel extension being lost. Other aspects of the project, such as the Burton Green cut and cover tunnel and the Old Oak Common development, have also received planning approval.
