Research has demonstrated the use of handheld and mounted laser speckle contrast perfusion imaging in psoriasis lesions. This technology has potential applications in point of care settings and may be used in conjunction with other imaging techniques, such as dermoscopy. The development of related imaging technologies, including those for retinal blood flow and functional imaging in animals, is also being explored.
