West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in several locations, including Alhambra, Atlanta, Artesia, and other parts of Los Angeles County, as well as in other US cities such as Milford. Human infections have been reported in some of these areas, including Long Beach. The virus appears to be spreading at a rate that is unusually high, with some areas experiencing the highest number of cases in over 20 years.
