Research has identified a variant of superficial spreading melanoma characterized by large nests, with histological and genetic evidence supporting this finding. However, other studies appear to be focused on different conditions, including exercise-induced vasculitis and urothelial carcinoma variants. The connection between these various studies and the initial melanoma finding is unclear.
