A supermassive black hole's presence has been observed in the form of a shadow cast by its torus in the galaxy IC 5063. The observation was made using the Hubble telescope, although other telescopes may also be involved in studying the galaxy. The reports do not clearly indicate if the observation is related to a collision or interaction between galaxies.
