Research is being conducted on the effectiveness of certain antibiotics, including eravacycline and omadacycline, against nontuberculous mycobacteria. The in vitro activity of these antibiotics is being tested against various mycobacterial isolates, including Mycobacterium abscessus and Nocardia. Studies are also exploring antibiotic resistance mechanisms and investigating potential therapeutic approaches, including combination treatments, to combat these infections.
