An interstellar comet, referred to as 3I/ATLAS, has been found to carry water that is unlike any found in our solar system. The comet's origin and age are the subject of study, with some reports suggesting it may have formed up to 12 billion years ago, although the exact age and details of its birthplace are not universally agreed upon. The comet is believed to have come from a colder and possibly very different environment than our solar system.
