The introduction of mpox virus clade Ib has been reported in the republic of the Congo. There is evidence of community transmission of clade Ib mpox virus, as well as co-circulation with other clades, including clade Ia and clade IIb, in various locations. The virus has also been detected outside of the african region, with cases reported in the united states, among other places.
