Incyte is acquiring Vega Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Star Therapeutics, in a deal worth up to $2 billion, expanding its hematology portfolio. The acquisition appears to be related to the development of treatments for bleeding disorders, including Von Willebrand disease. Early data from a phase 1/2 study of a treatment called latarcibart, also known as VGA039, has shown promise in reducing bleeding in patients with the disease.
