A company called Panthalassa is developing a wave-powered data centre in the ocean. The project has reportedly received significant investment, with estimates ranging from $140m to $1bn, and is backed by investors including Peter Thiel. The data centre is said to be a floating facility that utilizes ocean energy to power its operations, potentially representing a new approach to hosting ai data centres.
