Research is being conducted on the effects of aging on the brain in individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with some studies suggesting that symptoms may not diminish with age. There appears to be a connection between inattention symptoms and lower cognitive performance in older adults, although it can be challenging to distinguish between the effects of aging and ADHD. The relationship between ADHD and aging is complex, and diagnosis and treatment in older adults are being explored.
