A patient with cystic fibrosis has undergone a quadruple-organ transplant in Illinois, a procedure that is reportedly the first of its kind in the state. The transplant, which included lungs, liver, and kidney, was performed at UChicago Medicine. The patient is one of a limited number of people in the US to have received such a transplant, with reports indicating they may be the sixth person to have undergone the procedure.
