A significant portion of Syrian Kurds in the Dohuk region of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq are reportedly stateless, with one in twelve affected. The situation of Syrian refugees in the area is said to be difficult, with their lives possibly becoming even harder. Statelessness is a particular issue for Syrian Kurdish refugees, who may feel they have no future in the region.
