Investment scams have resulted in losses of more than £2.6bn since 2020. The total amount lost is reported to have been stolen at a rate of £13m per week over the past four years. Some investors have reported being unable to withdraw funds from certain platforms, with individual losses ranging from significant amounts, such as £300,000.
