Research on cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion batteries is ongoing, with recent advances in areas such as metal organic frameworks and amorphous electrode materials. Various studies have explored the design, application, and optimization of these materials to improve energy storage. The development of multifunctional zinc-ion capacitors and water-resistant redox-active metal-organic frameworks are also being investigated for potential use in next-generation batteries.
