Research on mitoribosome assembly is providing new insights into the process. Studies are shedding light on the structural basis of mitochondrial translation and the assembly pathway of human mitoribosomes. The findings appear to be advancing understanding of the steps involved in mitoribosome biogenesis and translation initiation in human mitochondria.
