Mitski is writing music and lyrics for a stage musical adaptation of The Queen's Gambit. A separate project, a new album titled Nothing's About to Happen to Me, has also been announced, with a lead single called Where's My Phone?. The development of the stage musical and the release of the new album appear to be two distinct endeavors.
