A pair of michael jordan's trainers has sold for a record $2.2m. The trainers are from 1998 and are associated with michael jordan's "last dance". The sale of the trainers has set a new record, although it is unclear if this is the highest price ever paid for any item of its kind, as another item, an original birkin bag, reportedly sold for £7m.
