A mars orbiter has found water ice in an impact crater on the planet. The crater is believed to have been formed by a meteoroid impact that excavated large chunks of water ice, and was also detected by nasa's insight lander, which recorded a significant quake triggered by the impact. The discovery provides new information about water on mars, although the extent to which it relates to previous findings about water flow on the planet is unclear.
