The report suggests that heart-related diseases are a major cause of death globally, with some sources indicating they may account for around one-third of deaths. The exact number of deaths attributed to CVD varies, with one source reporting 20 million lives lost in 2021, while the proportion of the global disease burden attributed to heart disease is also reported to be around 15 percent.
