New York has filed a lawsuit against 3M, DuPont, and other companies over the presence of so-called "forever chemicals" in consumer goods. The lawsuit may also involve the chemicals' presence in drinking water, although the scope of the lawsuit is not entirely clear. The companies are being sued in connection with the toxic effects of these chemicals, also known as PFAS.
