A nearby super earth, possibly located 18 light-years away, is being considered a promising candidate for life. The exoplanet, which may be called GJ 251 c or GJ 3378b, is thought to be situated in the habitable zone of a red dwarf star, where conditions may be suitable for liquid water to exist.
