Doulas are increasingly being recognized for their support of expecting mothers, with some programs aiming to increase access to doula care for underserved communities. Black doulas in particular are highlighted for their role in addressing health disparities and providing expertise and protection for black expecting mothers. The growing availability of doula care is being explored in various contexts, including mainstream acceptance and integration into healthcare systems.
