Research is examining the factors that influence swidden cultivation, a farming practice, in the Eastern European Plain. The study of swidden cultivation is not limited to this region, as similar research is being conducted in other areas, such as community forests in Belize. The relationship between farming practices and environmental factors, including climate, is being explored in these studies.
