A soft robotic fish has been developed that can swim alongside real fish in coral reefs. The robot, referred to as "SoFi" in some reports, is used to study aquatic life, although one outlet refers to a different device called "Squidbot" with similar capabilities. The robotic fish is controlled acoustically and has been used to take pictures of coral and fish, with videos available showing it swimming through the ocean.
